I bought a ticket
For a West-bound train
To take me to the coast
I arrived early
Much before my time
But the train never showed
Now I’m stuck in the swamp lands
And storm clouds are parked overhead
They show no signs of lifting
It just keeps raining
But all my bags are packed, and I’ve got nowhere to go
I came to a crossroad
Looked both ways
Stood there for what seemed 100 years
I could not decide
Which way to go
And before long I had thought so hard
I forgot from where I had come
Now I’m traveling with no direction
And there’s a fog on the horizon
All I can feel is the ground I tread on
Leading me somewhere that I don’t know
Came to a hillside
Looked to the top
Saw a man in servant’s clothes
He asked “Son, where you headed?”
I said “Sir, I don’t know, but this seems like a good road.”
He said, “Why don’t you follow me?”
“I will show you the view”
“You’re headed into a dark valley”
“Come with me and you will see there is another road”
“And I’ve already blazed it for you.”
